Compare Solflare's Instant Unstake quote with the amount received, and distinguish its liquidity fee from standard unstaking and ordinary network costs.

A Solflare user described finding less SOL after an Instant Unstake and only later noticing which option they had used. One possible explanation is the Instant Unstake fee: Solflare's current unstaking guide lists a liquidity-dependent fee of 0.5% to 3%. The difference is not automatically proof of that fee; compare the actual quote and transaction first.

Was it Instant Unstake or standard unstaking?

In an illustrative example, I expected my staked SOL to return in full and saw a smaller amount in the wallet. The first clue is the route. Solflare describes standard unstaking as a process that waits until the stake account is inactive, after which you use Withdraw. Instant Unstake is the faster option and shows a fee before confirmation in the official guide. The diagram above separates the two routes; it does not represent a transaction from a real account.

Check the transaction in the wallet's history and, if you have it, the confirmation screen or receipt. If it was Instant Unstake, compare the amount you agreed to receive with the amount that arrived. If it was standard unstaking and your stake is merely inactive or 'unstaking,' the SOL may still need a separate Withdraw action; it has not necessarily disappeared.

How much can the instant fee account for?

Use your own quote, not a fixed percentage from this page. As a simple illustration, a 3% fee on 100 SOL would leave 97 SOL before any other applicable costs. A 0.5% fee would leave 99.5 SOL before other costs. Solflare says the rate depends on available liquidity, and its guide tells users to review the displayed fee. These numbers explain the arithmetic, not what any particular transaction should have paid.

If the received amount does not match the displayed quote after accounting for the transaction details, keep the public transaction signature and contact Solflare through its official help center. Do not send a recovery phrase or sign a 'refund' transaction offered in a direct message. A past user report does not establish that Instant Unstake is the default option in the current app, so verify the toggle yourself each time.

What if you have not unstaked yet?

If time is less important than avoiding the Instant Unstake liquidity fee, compare it with Solflare's standard unstaking path before confirming. Standard unstaking has a waiting period and then a separate withdrawal step, according to the same official guide. This does not remove ordinary network transaction costs. If a new stake account cannot be opened because of the minimum delegation, that is a different issue covered by our 1 SOL staking minimum guide.

HideFi is independent of Solflare. We cannot inspect a private account or reverse an executed unstake.
