Rabby can block signing despite a funded wallet. Check the transaction chain, its native fee token, same-chain balance, and optional GasAccount cost.

A Rabby user asked why a transfer kept showing “Gas balance is not enough” even after trying to top up. They described sending a token they called Solana on BNB Chain to Binance. The thread does not confirm what fixed that transfer. The useful clue is the network on the transaction, not the token name or the wallet’s total dollar value. On BNB Chain, the network fee is paid in BNB.
Which network is Rabby asking you to use?
Open the transaction confirmation and read its chain before buying or transferring anything. Rabby’s current gas-error guide names ETH for Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum; BNB for BNB Chain; and POL for Polygon. The fee token must be on that exact chain. ETH on Ethereum Mainnet cannot pay an Arbitrum fee, although both tokens say ETH. Likewise, a token named SOL on BNB Chain would still need BNB for that chain’s gas; its name does not turn the transaction into a native Solana transfer.
Before any exchange withdrawal or bridge, compare Rabby’s selected chain with the asset’s actual chain and the receiving platform’s supported deposit network. A wrong-network transfer can create a second problem. If you cannot confirm those three details, pause rather than sending a test amount blindly.
Why do USDT or other tokens not unlock signing?
A wallet can show a large token balance while its spendable native fee balance on the chosen chain is zero. Rabby says ordinary chain fees are paid in the chain’s native token, not directly in USDT or USDC. Check the available fee-token amount for the same account and network shown on the confirmation, then compare it with Rabby’s live fee estimate. If it is short, one route is to obtain enough of that native token on the right network; include any exchange or bridge cost and risk in that decision.
Rabby also offers GasAccount on supported chains. Its current GasAccount guide says the browser extension shows a GasAccount control left of Settings; when funded, it can provide native gas to your address for a transaction. The confirmation screen can select it, or Rabby may switch automatically when native gas is insufficient. This does not mean BNB Chain accepts USDT as gas. Rabby estimates the transaction fee plus a transfer fee for delivering gas, debits that from GasAccount, and leaves unused native gas at your address. Read the displayed total before funding or confirming.
What if I already have the right fee token?
Check that the fee token is available in the account and chain you are actually signing from, and that the amount covers the current estimate. If it still fails, capture the exact error, chain, Rabby version, and any public transaction hash, then contact Rabby through its official support site. If a GasAccount deposit is pending, Rabby’s guide directs users to support for that transaction. Do not follow a stranger’s RPC, wallet-connection, or recovery-phrase request.
The checkable path is transaction chain → native fee token → available balance on that chain → GasAccount cost if used. If all four look right but the button remains blocked, the original Reddit question gives no verified fix; official support needs the exact transaction context.
